Founded in July 2003 by author and philanthropist NYASHA GWATIDZO, Vana Trust was registered as a charity in July 2003 for the relief of poverty, sickness and distress, the advancement of education and the preservation and protection of good health of children and young adults in Africa and UK.
Through encouragement, support and commitment to young people for over a decade, we inspire them and help them overcome their difficulties, as well as enable them to give back to their own communities.
A youth led social enterprise which mentors young people with the right mindset, to foster the young generation to be problem solvers and achieve a goal of seeing our world sustainable world for future generations.
They create a generation of self-sustaining youth through creation of employment opportunities, discovering new knowledge, preserving our heritage as well as implementing sustainable programs that enhance investment now and for the future generations
The Johannesburg Children's Home provides a safe refuge for 64 children of all races who have been found in need of care by the Children's Court.
Aged from 3 to 18 years, thier children have suffered physical, sexual or emotional abuse, severe neglect or abandonment. Some are Aids orphans and/or are HIV positive. At JCH they start a new life, living in cottages of up to ten children under the loving eyes of trained Child Care Workers.
